How to Enroll As a Patient in Ohio for Medical Marijuana?

You must establish a relationship between you and your physician before you can become an Ohio medicinal marijuana patient. They must have a valid certificate from the State Medical Board of Ohio to recommend medical marijuana.

This can either be done offline or online. Online is more cost-effective. Some of the most well-known online MMJ service providers offer money-back assurances. There is no cost to you if you don’t qualify.

Ohio has a requirement you visit your doctor in person at least once per year. To receive renewals and recommendations, you only need to make a video call with your physician. This should be the norm going forward.

1. Ohio Certified Healthcare Providers Certificate

You will need to meet with a physician in order to receive a certification letter.

As we already mentioned, it’s possible to meet with your physician face-to-face. You can also save yourself the trouble of finding a certified physician and driving to their location and then waiting in a lobby. Instead, you can do everything online from the convenience of your own home.

Or you could meet with them to discuss medical pot as a potential treatment for your condition.

If you have been approved, the physician will submit your name to the Ohio marijuana registry.

To request medical marijuana for your patient, your physician will need to see some of your information. They will need your Ohio driver’s licence. Also, a valid Ohio identification certificate was issued by BMV.

You will need to provide the information for your caregiver if you have one. They will complete their profile in both the caregiver and patient registry.

2. Ohio State Email Address

Once you have been entered into the state registry by your doctor, you will be able to log in and access your profile within the patient registry. You will need this information to complete your state registration and pay the required fee.

The Ohio medical program will send you an email informing you that you need to complete this task within three business days. Please check your spam or junk folders if you haven’t received this email.

If this email is not found, please contact the MMCP by telephone or email. Please provide your first and last names, date of birth, and email addresses to get a new registration URL.

Ohio does NOT require you to upload your certificate of medical marijuana. This is often given to patients by their doctors. Ohio patients don’t get certificates because they don’t require one. Instead, the state registry receives recommendations from the doctor.

3. Get Approved For Your Ohio Card

You will receive your Ohio Medical Marijuana Card via email as soon as you complete the state application. This usually occurs on the same day.

After you receive your Ohio caregiver and patient card, you can buy medical cannabis.

Ohio dispensaries are the only legal places where you can purchase medication. To make a payment, you’ll need your active registry and a valid ID.

You might be eligible to order over the telephone and have your medication delivered curbside. For more information, call your dispensary.
